Roles of advertisement in Business


Firstly, I will like to explain what is advertising.
Advertising is any form of enlightening people about an idea, service or Products. It can also be defined as any form of non-
personal communication through the media that is paid for by a sponsor.


Advertisement are view through various media; like mass media such as Televisions, Newspaper, radio advertisement,
Magazines, outdoor advertising etc; and new media such as Website, Text messages, Blog etc.

Advertising is very important in every Business. These are some of the reasons why advertisement is very important in
Business:

1. CREATE ROOM FOR NEW PRODUCTS: Without Advertising, Customers will not be aware of new
products. Every new product needs a solid advertising because Customers as never used the Products before.

Customers will love to know the difference and advancement of any new products before think of purchasing
them.

Advertising is the only way to create room for new or upcoming Products.

2. INCREASE DEMAND RATE: Every Business that succeeds today must as went through Advertising. The
main reason behind advertising is because of creating more demands. Advertising will remind Customers or keep
them notice about the Product.

Advertising may induce more customers to buy the product if they enjoy what they see in the Advert. They may
decide to leave there former brands and go for new brands.

3. FACING COMPETITION:Advertising is every important to face competition, especially if you are into a
competitive Business. You would be able to keep your Customers updated about any changes and development
about your products; so that your competitors won't convince your customers they could satisfy them more than
you do.
4. NOTIFIYING OF CHANGES TO CUSTOMERS: Advertisement is the best way to notify your
Customers about any changes you make, whether in the aspect of Channel of distribution, Prices, products,
Payment option etc.

5. ESTABLISHING OF DIRECT CONTACT TO CUSTOMERS: Advertisement can be use to establish
contact between Business owners and Customers. Business owners will share there contact to Customers through
advertising, so that customers can speak to them concerning any issue they will like to know.

6. CONTINUITY: Advertisement is the only way to keep existing Customers to stick to the Products. If
advertisers are coming up with a new idea and strategy, it will convince the Customers to stick to the Product.

7. SWITCHING BACK:Advertising is the best way to withdraw back your customers that as left your brand
for a reason. You could convince them that the necessary adjustment as been made. This could make you get back
your lost Customers.

8. COMPARISON: Advertising of your products is the only way your customers will use in comparing your
products with any other products before deciding to stick with your products.

9. MORALE: how will you feel when people here your brand name and say ''wow, I heard your Company
provides the best''. Is that not a reason for you to be happy? The only way people can get to know about your Brand
quality is by advertising it.

10. EDUCATING THE SOCIETY: Advertising is a way of bringing people together and educating them. If
people saw an advertisement they love, they will respond positively to it.
Advertisement is very important to any Business; it keeps the demand rate very high.
